How this classroom economy works
All amounts are fictional classroom dollars ($). One round represents one month. Starting owner equity is $5,000. Loans charge 1% monthly interest (12% nominal annual rate), with equal principal repayments over ten months starting immediately. New draws add their own ten-month principal schedule. Equipment costs $600 per upgrade and adds 30% of base capacity; straight-line depreciation is one tenth of purchase cost each month. Relocation costs $150. Taxes, owner wages, dividends and resale proceeds are excluded. Inventory uses weighted average cost and quality; food and unused service capacity expire. Reputation carries forward and affects demand. Competitors respond to the campaign’s market events, independently of classmates.
